When bad quilting happens
My sewing room has been a mess. Especially since the "walking horse" project is an improv-piecing project. There was stuff all over the place! I'm pleased to announce that I straightened up and am now cutting for project #2 -- this weekend's Kaffe Fassett retreat piece.
I'm doing the project in the photo, but only making it a 4x4 piece, as opposed to the 6x6 piece pictured. It's going to be a table topper for the dining area of our apartment. These are the fabrics I'm previewing for the big splash squares. This is all my KF stuff minus two pieces I'm saving for another project.
And this will be the sashing (purple/black scribble) and cornerstones (green print). It's going to be LOUD!!!! And that's what I want... My dishes are white, and most everything is very neutral, so this will bring some color to the place.
The retreat/class is on Saturday from 12-5 and is sponsored by my favorite local quilt shop, Gathering Fabric in Woddinville, WA. I'm going mainly to force myself to get out and meet people (I'm really shy until you get to know me). Plus I need to bust some of my stash before I get called a hoarder. LOL!
I'm bringing an ice-breaker along with me to the retreat -- some candied ginger shortbreads. Hope it works and I can bribe some new friends into liking me. :-)
I got my King County/Seattle library card in the mail and picked up some quilting DVDs to get me out of my "quilter's block". I got a Fons and Porter 1300 series show DVD set, as well as Quilting Arts' 100 series shows. So those are keeping me company while I cut and do laundry (someone's gotta do chores around here).
Hope you're having a great day. Are you planning on sewing/playing with this weekend? What are you working on? Inquiring minds want to know.

We quilters is good peoples! You cannot go wrong in finding new friends at a quilt class (with or without cookies)! Have a great time!
Have a great time Saturday! I'm going to a bridal shower for one of my younger daughter's longtime friends, so I won't get much cutting or sewing done this weekend. But I'm about ready to dive into a project. (featuring teacup fabric...) Hugs!
You have got to be kidding me? Who would NOT like you????? I've never work with Kaffe fabrics, but you sure have some great ones!

Somehow, I doubt that a bribe will be needed, but much appreciated anyway:)
I hope we're building a mantle shelf for the fireplace this weekend. If not, I really need to shovel out my sewing room. It's so bad!
candied ginger shortbread WITH Nutella - then you'd be a friend for life
